Die Jugendfreizeitanlage Oase stellt sich vor
Seit wann gibt es die Oase und was ist das Ziel eurer Arbeit?
Seit 1985 wird die Freizeitsportanlage oase von Schulen und dem Stadtjugendring Augsburg gemeinsam genutzt. Herbst 1993 Bau und Einweihung einer Allwetter Anlage. Im September 2009 offizielle Eröffnung des neuen oasen-Hauptgebäudes. Ein kleines Jugendzentrum mit Büro, Aufenthaltsraum, Küche, Lager, Barrierefreiem Zugang etc. Im Herbst 2020 Generalsanierung der Außenanlage inkl. Schulsanitäranlagen beendet.
Auf der oase haben die Kinder und Jugendlichen die Möglichkeit ihre Freizeit sinnvoll zu gestalten und einen Ausgleich zum Alltag zu finden. Sport, Ernährung und niederschwellige erlebnispädagogische Angebote spielen dabei eine zentrale Rolle. Die oase ist ferner ein Ort der außerschulischen Bildung. Die Jugendlichen erhalten Unterstützung bei Angelegenheiten in der Schule, beim Übergang ins Berufsleben oder bei Problemen im familiären Kontext.
Welche Erfolge könnt ihr bereits aufweisen? Was wurde bereits erreicht?
Mittlerweile ist die oase ein stadtteilweiter Treffpunkt aktiver Erlebnis- und Freizeitpädagogik, für ein internationales Publikum aus über 30 Nationen. Ein herrlicher Ort zum Toben, Spielen, Sporttreiben oder einfach „chillen“. Ca.90% der Besucher*innen weisen einen Migrationshintergrund auf. Im Schnitt liegt die Zahl der wöchentl. Nutzer*innen bei ca. 100-350, je nach Wetterlage und Jahreszeit. Die Altersspanne liegt bei ca. 10 bis 27 Jahren. Dank eines Multifunktionsraumes, ausgestattet mit Billard, Kicker und Dart sowie Spielkonsolen haben die Besucher*innen auch eine Alternative bei schlechter Witterung. In der gut ausgestatteten Küche kann gemeinschaftlich gekocht und gebacken werden. Falls es schnell gehen soll gibt es an der Theke kostengünstige Snacks.
Erfreulich entwickelt hat sich auch die Vernetzung im Stadtteil. An relevanten Arbeitskreisen arbeitet die oase mit und ist Akteur oder sogar Austragungsort für Feste und Aktionen.
Wie kann man bei euch mitmachen?
Generell können alle Kinder ab ca.11 Jahren und Jugendliche, während der Öffnungszeiten, die oase besuchen, sogenannte offene Jugendarbeit. Keine Beiträge, Vereinszugehörigkeit, Voranmeldung usw. ist erforderlich.
Auf der oase haben die Kinder und Jugendlichen viele Möglichkeiten zur Partizipation. Beim Nordpass z.B. können die Besucher*innen durch Mitarbeit Punkte sammeln. Für Thekenverkauf, Einkauf oder Hilfe bei Veranstaltungen bekommen die Beteiligten Punkte. Gesammelte Punkte bringen z.B. Vergünstigungen bei Ausflügen und andere Vorteile. Bei der Oasenversammlung alle 3 Monate entscheiden die Teilnehmer*innen über Ausflüge, Kauf von neuen Spielgeräten, welche Farbe für die Räume, Essensangebot etc.

How long has the Oase been around and what is the aim of your work?
Since 1985, the oase leisure sports facility has been used jointly by schools and the Stadtjugendring Augsburg. Autumn 1993 Construction and inauguration of an all-weather facility. In September 2009, official opening of the new oasen main building. A small youth center with office, lounge, kitchen, storage, barrier-free access, etc. General renovation of the outdoor facilities including school sanitary facilities completed in fall 2020.
At the oasis, children and young people have the opportunity to spend their free time in a meaningful way and find a balance to everyday life. Sport, nutrition and low-threshold experiential educational activities play a central role in this. The oase is also a place of extracurricular education. The young people receive support with issues at school, with the transition to working life or with problems in the family context.
What successes can you already point to? What has already been achieved?
The oase is now a district-wide meeting place for active adventure and leisure education for an international audience from over 30 nations. A wonderful place to run around, play, do sports or simply „chill out“. Around 90% of visitors come from a migrant background. On average, the number of weekly users is around 100-350, depending on the weather and time of year.
The age range is approx. 10 to 27 years. Thanks to a multifunctional room equipped with billiards, table football, darts and games consoles, visitors also have an alternative when the weather is bad. They can cook and bake together in the well-equipped kitchen. If you need something quick, there are inexpensive snacks available at the counter.
Networking in the district has also developed positively. The oase is involved in relevant working groups and is an actor or even a venue for festivals and events.
How can people join you?
In general, all children aged 11 and over and young people can visit the oase during opening hours, so-called open youth work. No fees, club membership, pre-registration etc. are required.
At the oase, children and young people have many opportunities to participate. With the Nordpass, for example, visitors can collect points by helping out. Participants receive points for selling items at the bar, shopping or helping at events. Points collected bring discounts on excursions and other benefits. At the oasis meeting every 3 months, the participants decide on excursions, the purchase of new play equipment, which color for the rooms, food offerings, etc.

Der Stadtteilgarten an der Austraße!
Ihr habt Lust zu gärtnern – alleine, mit Kindern, Freund:innen oder mit Nachbar:innen?
Ihr wollt mit Euren Kindern im Grünen spielen oder euch im Schatten ausruhen, mit Freund*innen treffen, werkeln, grillen?
Dann seid ihr herzlich eingeladen, Teil der Gartengemeinschaft an der nördlichen Austraße zu werden und im Stadtteilgartengarten zwischen Wertach und Senkelbach euer eigenes Beet anzulegen – es gibt noch Platz genug!
Das Quartiersmanagement Rechts-der-Wertach organisiert seit 2017 das Projekt und unterstützt die Gärtner*innen mit Rat und Tat.
Die Nutzung des Gartens ist kostenlos – als Gegenleistung hoffen wir auf eure Mithilfe bei Pflanz- und Renovierungsarbeiten oder beim Gießen.

Then you are cordially invited to become part of the garden community on the northern Austraße and create your own bed in the neighbourhood garden between Wertach and Senkelbach – there is still plenty of space!
The neighbourhood management Rechts-der-Wertach has been organising the project since 2017 and supports the gardeners with help and advice.
Use of the garden is free of charge – in return, we hope you will help with planting and renovation work or watering.

Orte in Rechts-der-Wertach: Das Quartierszentrum
Mit dem Quartierszentrum hat die Qualle einen Ort geschaffen, wo sich alle Menschen in Augsburg – jedoch insbesondere die Nachbarschaft im Quartier – begegnen und vernetzen können. Dabei steht die Förderung des bürgerschaftlichen Engagements und das Schaffen und Stärken lokaler
demokratischer Strukturen, wodurch die Nachbarschaft als Gemeinschaft zusammenwächst, im Vordergrund. Darüber hinaus werden Kunst- und Kulturveranstaltungen im QZ stattfinden.
„Kommen Menschen wieder zusammen, entsteht aus Begegnung und Austausch zwischen Menschen mit unterschiedlichen soziokulturellen Hintergründen Empowerment, Vernetzung und der Wille, gemeinsam Projekte umzusetzen“, so eine Aktivistin der Qualle.

With the neighbourhood centre, Qualle has created a place where all people in Augsburg – but especially the neighbourhood in the district – can meet and network. The focus here is on promoting civic engagement and creating and strengthening local democratic structures

Der „ProjektRaum“ –
ein Ort der Begegnung und der Kultur im Quartier.
Der ProjektRaum ist für alle Nachbar*innen und Aktive offen. Er ist konsumfrei und kann kostenlos für gemeinwohlorientierte Projekte aus dem Stadtteil oder für den Stadtteil genutzt werden – für Kurse und Workshops, Treffen, gemeinsames Kochen und Essen, Nachbarschaftskino sowie Konzerte, Aufführungen, Werkstätten und vieles mehr.
Von Montag bis Mittwoch dient er der „Tür an Tür Digitalfabrik“ als Co-Working Space.
Von Donnerstag bis Sonntag finden Veranstaltungen aus und für die Bürgerschaft statt, die vom Quartiersmanagement koordiniert werden.
Unter dem Motto „Veranstalte dich selbst!“ ist die Bühne im ProjektRaum am Samstag für Formate der Kunst und Kultur reserviert.
Betrieben wird der Raum gemeinsam von Tür an Tür e.V. und dem Quartiersmanagement Rechts-der-Wertach.

The „ProjektRaum“ –
a place for encounters and culture in the neighbourhood.
The ProjektRaum is open to all neighbours and active people. It is consum-free and can be used free of charge for community-oriented projects from the district or for the district – for courses and workshops, meetings, cooking and eating together, neighbourhood cinema as well as concerts, performances, workshops and much more.
From Monday to Wednesday, it serves as a co-working space for the „Tür an Tür Digitalfabrik“.

Der Foodverteiler „Futterquelle“
Der Foodverteiler wurde von der Qualle ins Leben gerufen und bietet den Menschen in Rechts-der-Wertach die Möglichkeit, gerettetes Essen kostenlos abzuholen. Mit 2 Kühlschränken und 4 lebensmittelechten Boxen ist ausreichend Platz, um der Lebensmittelverschwendung im Quartier etwas entgegenzusetzen. In der WhatsApp-Gruppe sind mittlerweile mehr als 250 Menschen.
Genauer Ort: Im Hof in der Wolfgangstraße 2 (nahe Wertachstraße)

The food distributor was set up by Qualle and offers people in Rechts-der-Wertach the opportunity to get hold of rescued food free of charge.
