A Look back on a delicious week of the summerstreet

During the third week of the Summer Street, visitors had the opportunity to discover a different culinary experience each day.

On Wednesday, the Environmental Education Centre, together with Manuel from Rennkraut, introduced a variety of edible sprouts growing right next to the playground—plants that anyone is welcome to harvest free of charge. Children and young people were invited to plant their own mini sprout garden to take home. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed fresh bread with butter topped with bean or nasturtium sprouts.

On Thursday, the Takeoff group gathered for a picnic on the Summer Street and spontaneously joined Zihanath’s West African street food workshop, where participants prepared and sampled traditional dishes together.

On Friday evening, the grills were fired up as the Turkish Parents‘ Association served delicious köfte alongside grilled vegetables. Thanks to two separate grills, the entire barbecue was prepared in accordance with halal requirements, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the meal together.
